The Sembalun valley sits at around 1,100 metres above sea level, ringed by the ridges of Rinjani and savanna hills. Six villages live within it: Sembalun, Sembalun Lawang, Sembalun Bumbung, Sembalun Timba Gading, Sajang, and Bilok Petung.
